Most people know their shoe length but have no idea what width they need. They squeeze into standard-width shoes and wonder why they end up with blisters, bunions, or aching arches. Width matters just as much as length for comfort and foot health.

Understanding Width Sizing

Men's widths run B (narrow), D (standard), 2E (wide), 4E (extra wide). Women's widths run AA (narrow), B (standard), D (wide), 2E (extra wide). Note that B is standard for women but narrow for men, which causes confusion when shopping online.

Measuring at Home

Place paper on a hard floor and stand with full weight. Trace your foot with a pen held straight. Measure the widest part across the ball. Compare to a width chart. Measure both feet and buy for the wider one. Measure at the end of the day when feet are largest.
